European companies and exchanges congratulate winners of the 1st European Small and Mid-Cap Awards.

In 2013, the European Commission launched these Awards to promote the best practices and success stories of the most dynamic companies financed by European public capital markets, in particular targeting growth companies. The Awards aim to highlight the best European small and mid-sized companies who have gained access to capital markets via an Initial Public Offering and to encourage more companies to access public capital markets.

On the evening of 19th November 2013, FESE and EuropeanIssuers co-hosted a prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate the winners of the 1st European Small and Mid-cap Awards. The ceremony was presided over by the European Commission: Daniel Calleja Crespo, Director General of DG Enterprise and Industry and SME Envoy as well as Nadia Calviño, Deputy Director General of the DG Internal Markets and Services and Jean-Servais, Chairman of the Belgium FSMA.

Thank you to all our sponsors and delegates for supporting and participating in the Awards ceremony.

NEW Communication on the 2013 edition

The European Commission, the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) and the EuropeanIssuers communicate that the independent Jury which determines the winners of the «European Mid-cap Listing Awards» decided to revoke, for all purposes, the prize awarded for the 2013 «Best new listed company».

The Jury’s original decision was based on audited financial information submitted by the company at the time of its listing, which, according to recent statements by the company, was not accurate.

The prize is now assigned to the 2013 runner-up, Alior Bank S.A. (Poland).

The European Small & Mid-Cap Awards is aimed at encouraging transparent and dynamic mid-cap companies to access capital markets in full transparency and in a well-regulated environment. The Awards do not carry any cash prize or any other material privilege.
